Mali in mourning, Independence Day celebrations suspended

Mali’s independence anniversary has been canceled due to the deteriorating security situation and recent heavy loss of life.

During this week’s Ministerial meeting, interim President Assimi Goita instructed the use of funds meant for the festivities to assist families and victims of the series of recent attacks.
